Rent a bike or bring your own

We hire out 30 city bikes and 2 electric bikes at reasonable rates, with lower charges for longer rentals. We provide safe and modern bikes that are maintained on a routine basis, and we  have enough bikes for larger groups too.

Cycle Friendly Accommodation

Being awarded 2 bicycle friendly quality labels, the Danish Quality label “Cycling Denmark” and the international cycle label Bed+Bike, Danhostel Ribe is an ideal base for cyclists. The hostel is located in Denmark’s biggest National Park and the North Sea Cycle route along the Danish West Coast passes the hostel.
We welcome cyclists with secure shelters for bicycles, tools for repairing, and suggestions for cycling tours and trips – and if you don´t bring your own bicycle you can rent it here. You can hire one for however long you need it.

Bike parts and accessories for bikes

You will find Denmark’s largest bike shop, Ribe Cykellager, just 3.5 km (2,1 miles) away from the hostel,  and of course they offer a wide range of bike parts and accessories for bikes. Address: Industrivej 20 C, 6760 Ribe. Tel. (+45) 75 42 42 42.

Denmark is ideal for cyclists

Denmark is ideal for cyclists and the very flat West Coast in particular. The area offers a wide range of cycling holiday opportunities.
A bicycle tour is a wonderful way to experience the Wadden Sea National Park: The wind, the weather, the seasons, the light, the quiet that only makes the song of birds more amazing … both if you are alone, if you are more – and also if you are a couple.

A bike ride into the Wadden Sea National Park

Cycling is a great way to get out and about in the Wadden Sea National Park. From the hostel in Ribe you go to Kammerslusen (Ribe Pound Lock), along the Ribe Dike and the Wadden Sea, you follow the North Sea Cycle Route to Mandø Ebbevej and the Wadden Sea Centre. Continue along the Ribe marshland and back to Ribe. Approx. 25 km.

The North Sea Cycle Route

The North Sea Cycle Route (The West Coast Route) in Denmark follows the National Cycle Route No. 1 from the Danish-German border in the south to Skagen in the north, a total of 570 km.
